The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) is currently having their annual conference and exhibition. Biz Stone, co-founder of Twitter, was the keynote speaker today. CDW Healthcare took Mr. Stone's presentation as an invitation to reflect on the "5 Things Health IT can Learn from Twitter." Here are the five lessons, which can be found in full on this site - http://industryview.cdwcommunit.com/index.php/2012/02/21/5-things-healthit-can-learn-from-twitter/. I'll post some of my commentary after.
Earlier this week, one of our doctors found a problem using OpNote's write-in textboxes on the iPad. We quickly replicated the problem here and fixed it. At the same time, we took the opportunity to enhance OpNote's iPad experience. Apple has done a great service for web applications running on the iPad with iOS 5. [...]
In the latest Becker's Hospital Site Review, readers can find a great piece by Dr. Jared Ament that asks if surgical objectives are important enough to document? Dr. Ament used mTuitive OpNote as an example of an electronic way to easily and effectively capture important information for outcomes measurement and surgical research. But, Dr. Ament asks, should the original surgical objectives of those procedures be included in that research? What insight can be gained from comparing the objective with the outcome? What harm could come from documenting the original intent?
mTuitive OpNote is a web-based operative report - so the issue of web browsers is of great importance to us. Those browsers that you use to wander the Internet - using Facebook, buying items on Amazon, even reading these words right now - are programs that are constantly updated by their developers. Mozilla Firefox, Google [...]
We update OpNote with new features and improvements on a monthly basis. One of the new features we recently published is "Batch Printing," which we detailed here last week. Less than a week later we've already updated this feature so that personnel can do Batch Printing and now they can also "Batch Download" all of the day's reports.
Please Note: if you have a filter on for that day (by surgeon), then you will only download/print that surgeon's reports for that day. To read about both, scroll down; to jump directly to Batch Downloading, click here.
New Feature! We update OpNote with new features and improvements on a monthly basis. One of the new features we recently published is "Batch Printing." Batch Printing allows appropriate personnel to easily print out all of the operative reports created that day with one button. Your reports remain in electronic format in our system and [...]
Here are some videos addressing some questions you may have about OpNote:
Once defaults are satisfactorily set up, users will find it's faster to create and sign out a finished report than with dictation and transcription. Again - the report isn't finished until sign out, which OpNote provides immediately, thus allowing for faster reimbursement.
A couple of updates to OpNote to announce: OpNote Help Text: OpNote's help text has been updated and answers all your questions! For all users, "Help" can be found in the upper right hand corner of your browser window. If you are needing some assistance or you're just not sure how to do something, check [...]
Today I looked up the term proactive because I want to make a distinction between "excellent customer service," which the awesome staff at mTuitive have always provided, and "proactive customer service," which is another level. You hear the word proactive a lot in the technology business, but how often do you think about what it [...]
We are continuously updating mTuitive OpNote, with a 2-4 week turnaround schedule for each new batch. We work with our users and customers to identify new features to add to our program and any necessary changes to existing features that will make OpNote run better and easier. After we publish a batch of changes, we'll [...]
